How to Care & Maintain Teak Furniture

Our Teak Garden furniture is low maintenance even under the most extreme exposer to rain and sun. Our solid teak patio benches can last over 50 years untreated!

Maintaining the look you want is easy . . .

NATURAL

When left untreated, teak acquires a distinct attractive rustic look. Very natural and easy to maintain, simply wash in the spring with a mild soap and water to clean. Over time it will acquire a beautiful silver grey patina resembling driftwood.

PRESERVE

To preserve the natural golden colour of teak, it is easy to apply teak oil with a brush, wiping off excess oil with a soft cloth. During a hot and sunny summer season we recommend applying teak oil once a month. We also recommended storing your teak furniture indoors for the winter if you use teak oil to preserve the golden colour.

CLEAN

If your teak furniture requires cleaning this can be done using a normal household soft bristle brush and and warm water with mild soap. Rinse clean after washing to remove all residue.

We do not recommend the use of high pressure hoses, pressure-washers, or steel wire brushes to speed up the cleaning process as this may damage the surface or shorten the life-span of your teak furniture.

If the furniture has some stubborn and heavily ingrained stains these can be removed by sanding lightly with a fine grade sandpaper—being careful to sand with the direction of the teak wood grain.
